AUSTIN, Texas: Aviation and aerospace company SpaceX is expanding its presence to align with global demand by setting up a "new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility" in Austin, Texas.

SpaceX, headquartered in Hawthorne, California, has offices across the United States, comprising two existing Texas sites: a launch site in Brownsville and a rocket-testing facility in McGregor.

The company's founder, Elon Musk, has a clear inclination for the Lone Star State and has progressively relocated his business ventures and his personal life there.

In December 2020, Musk confirmed he had moved his home to Texas, albeit not outrightly admitting to residing in Austin. However, his statements during interviews did hint at that possibility.

During 2020, Musk's several ventures have mushroomed in the Austin area, with Tesla unveiling plans to construct a Gigafactory to produce electric vehicles in Travis County, Boring Company posting job listings for the Austin area, and Musk moving his private foundation from California to Austin.

In a recent development, the company's website lists Austin as a potential location for SpaceX jobs.

Two job postings on the company website seek an Automation and Controls Engineer for the company's SpaceX project Starlink, and an Assembly and Packaging Equipment Engineer. These roles are for remote working in Austin, though the job descriptions center around this new manufacturing facility.
